Hello! My name is Jenna (@lustfultravels), and I am a Middle School English Teacher living in Queens, New York. As a big foodie and someone who loves to discover new places, New York has been the perfect place for me to live in. There is so much to explore that you can never really run out of things to do here. New York City is such an alluring city full of life and culture; It is truly a city that never sleeps!

What is a typical breakfast and where would you go?

I am a big lover of brunch, and luckily for me, there are so many delicious spots in NYC. Friedman and Parker & Quinn are two of my favorite places to eat. The food and ambiance of these restaurants always have me coming back! I also really like L’room cafe.

If you’re looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast, I would recommend Lenny’s.

L’aroom Cafe

Where is your favourite place to grab lunch?

Los Tacos No.1 for some tacos or a pepperoni sicilian slice from Prince Street. They are absolutely delicious!

What is the ideal afternoon activity in a city like NYC?

An ideal afternoon for me would be to visit one of the many museums throughout the city. The MET and MoMa are two of my favorite museums that always seem to display some of the most interesting exhibits.

Where are the best places for dinner?

The Smith for some classic American food (Their mac and cheese is a MUST!), Thai Villa for some delicious Thai, and L’amico if you’re in the mood for Italian.

In the evening, what is the city like and where do you find yourself?

NYC is one the most lively cities I’ve ever seen. There is always something to do! I typically find myself at a rooftop bar in the evenings where you can get some of the best views of the city skyscrapers. Some of my favorites are Magic Hour Rooftop, PHD Dream Midtown, and Skylark.

In a busy city like NYC, is there anywhere to chill?

There are several parks throughout the city where you can unwind and relax such as Central Park, Washington Square Park, and Gantry Park in Long Island City.

There are also tons of beautiful cafes around the city where you can lounge and catch your breath.

What is there to do for something fun and different?

Walk through the streets of NYC, and you will probably come across a dingy looking comedy club. If you want a good laugh, I would highly recommend checking one out.

More drive-in movie theaters have also been popping up around the city this year. Check out Skyline Drive In NYC for a movie and an amazing skyline view.

Where is the best area to stay/sleep for young travellers?

The Lower East Side and Williamsburg are great locations for young travellers to stay in. Both areas are hip, fun, and super lively.

What season would you recommend visiting?

I would recommend visiting in the spring when it is warm enough but not too hot to enjoy rooftop bars and other outdoor activities.

Winter in New York is extremely cold but quite charming during the holiday season. If you can endure the weather, you should definitely visit in December.

Is NYC best for a family holiday/friends holiday or couple holiday?

NYC is best for any type of holiday. There are plenty of things to do and places to see that can appeal to any group of people.
