My name is Viviana @vivsterr and I grew up in Queens, NY. I work in NYC in human resource management. When I’m not working, I enjoy cycling around NYC and beyond. NYC has a lot to offer. The city is full of magic and there’s a lot to be inspired by. I love the diversity and the high energy 24/7!

What is a typical breakfast and where would you go?

For me, a typical breakfast involves stopping at the always-bustling Butler. I crave their coffee whether it’s hot or iced! Their veggie breakfast empanada is my go-to for breakfast or lunch. Their acai bowls are also a must try. I also really like Bakeri for their coffee and pastries.

Where is your favourite place to grab lunch?

I have too many favorites to pick just one! I work near Times Square so the options are endless! by CHLOE is one of my favorite plant-based restaurants. You can’t go wrong with their classic burger and a side of fries. Also delicious is their vegan fried chicken. Bareburger will always be a favorite lunch place of mine for their burgers, salads, drinks, and desserts. Another great option is Eataly. Now that I’m working from home, I’ll grab lunch from Emmy Squared or at theNorth 3rd Street Market.

What is the ideal afternoon activity in a city like NYC

You can’t go wrong by going to any of the food halls/markets located throughout the city like The Plaza Food Hall or Chelsea Market.

Where are the best places for dinner?

If you’re looking for Italian food, Eataly in Flatiron is worth checking out. Not only are the food and drinks good, but also the vibe and décor. Cecconi’s Dumbo is also worth checking out for the waterfront views.

Seamore’s is a great option if you’re looking for seafood.

Pastis or Balthazar are great options if you’re looking for a French restaurant.

In the evening, what is the city like and where do you find yourself?

As they say, NYC is the city that never sleeps. For amazing cocktails, check out Maison Premiere.

I also enjoy the rooftop bar at The William Vale hotel for a night out with friends.

In a busy city like NYC, is there anywhere to chill?

Definitely! You can take a walk through Central Park or Bryant Park, or visit the High Line.

What is there to do for something fun and different?

Take a ferry ride to Dumbo, Williamsburg, or Rockaway Beach! Or explore and get lost in Industry City, Brooklyn.

Where is the best area to stay/sleep for young travellers?

For young travellers, Williamsburg or Dumbo are wonderful areas to stay in. You will never be bored!

The William Vale in Williamsburg or the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo are lux hotels with great city views.

What season would you recommend visiting?

I would recommend visiting during the spring or summer. There is always something to do since the weather is warm. There are plenty of outdoor concerts to attend!

If you’re into working out, there are plenty of outdoor fitness events taking place.

Is NYC best for a family holiday/friends holiday or couple holiday?

NYC has it all and it’s perfect for any type of holiday. You can go sightseeing, check out all of the museums, eat at all the restaurants, and experience the nightlife.
