From opening at 6am till closing at 5pm this place is bursting full of Indonesia’s latest and greatest wannabe-influencers, celebrities and those who love a good poached egg. Plates stacked high and more than enough to see you through until dinner, Crate caters for all meat-lovers, vegetarians and vegans. Their dishes are literally works of art which cost no more than £3, and are sure to make your Instagram feed look good enough to eat.
Behind the central Batu-Bolong strip lies Penny Lane. Just walking past you will find yourself googling the name as the grand open space invites you to marvel. The decor looks like a ready made Instagram filter, covered in plants and palm trees, vintage furnishings and alternative stained-glass windows. Serving up loaded fries, sharing plates and burgers day and night with a beautifully designed signature cocktail menu to go with it. You will be hard-pressed not to grab a snap of this stunning venue.
If you are out for a night on the town in Canggu, the one place everyone is sure to tell you their night will begin or end, is Old Man’s. Set in front of Batu-Bolong Beach (or sometimes locally known as Old Man’s Beach) its a space to grab a beer and get your boogie on. A nice place to chill with food during the day and a dance floor to party during the night, you will rarely stop by Canggu without a visit. Just outside of this waterhole lies the famous blue and white Old Man’s Wall. Get a snap in front of it and join the Canggu Instagram club for good.
Coming to Canggu, your favourite early evening pastime will almost definitely become grabbing a cold Bintang and heading to Batu-Bolong or Echo Beach for a world class sunset. Be it clear skies or cloud it always sets to impress and kicks your night off in the best way. Buy your own beer on the walk down or get there early to pitch up at The Lawn, Sand Bar or many of the other beach front bars to soak in the view and get that Insta shot.
Tucked in an unassuming corner of a busy partying street lies Black Cat Mini Mart. From the outside and as you walk in, it seems to be a regular supermarket stocked with crisps and beers. However, at the back of the store lies a broken fridge door. Dare to ask entry to the fridge and you will discover a funky secret bar hidden in plain sight. Cocktails, shots and beers are served in this pumping little venue as a must stop before you head to your final destination, the club Pretty Poison. It is the ultimate place to up your Instagram story game and one not to be missed.
What do you get when you cross a dance floor, a skate bowl, bar and tattoo parlour? Pretty Poison thats what! Always jammed packed during the night, Pretty Poison is a backyard inspired arts bar with all the bells and whistles. Built around a huge empty pool now used as a skate bowl, drinkers and dancers flock to see people try their hand at some kicks and flips. Spin around next to the dance floor whilst you sip on your signature cocktail and witness many a Canggu tourist getting a permanent memory of their time on Bali with a quick tattoo. It makes for quite the ‘gram, and the music is good too!
