With all the lovely activities and places to visit in the city, the week can get a bit hectic, which is why a weekend escape is just the perfect thing to do as your last hurrah; shifting away from the city’s hustle and bustle and spending a few days relaxing. Jordan has a lot to offer, but these places would be my top recommendations.

one of the seven wonders of the world with truly the most beautiful views. If you stay at the Petra Marriott Hotel (@marriottpetrahotel) and do the few hour walk in Petra, you will witness all the wonders it has to offer.

Wadi Rum

If you’re literally looking for an escape on mars, Wadi Rum is the place for you. With incredible colours, unforgettable sunrise and sunsets, and a million stars to star gaze at night, this escape leaves you feeling mesmerised. SunCity Camo (@sunicty_camp) and Wadi Rum Bubble Luxotel (@wadirumbubble)  are my two favourite camps to stay at.

If you’re a mermaid in disguise like me and need an escape to the beach, Aqaba is the place for you. Whether you’re staying at the Movenpick in Tala Bay (@movenpicktalabay), the Hyatt Regency in Ayla (@hyattregencyaqaba) or the AL Manara hotel (@almanaraaqaba) in downtown Aqaba, you get to experience the most important parts of this little beach town; the seafood, water sports and activities like snorkelling amongst coral reefs, and merely basking in the sunlight.

Dead Sea

Famous for its miraculous salty water and mud; Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth. Perfect for a relaxing time at a resort like the Hilton, Marriott or Kempinski; with incredible spa facilities to soothe all your week stresses away,  you’ll leave with the softest skin and a beautiful tan.

For an escape in a more outdoorsy setting, where you can experience the greenest natural reserves in Jordan, these two hideaways are highly recommended .
